You provide this information voluntarily:

  • Responsibilities and achievements
  • Responses to check-in questions and reflections
  • Any additional career-related information you choose to add

Technical Data

We automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Device type and browser information
  • IP address and general location (country/region)
  • Usage analytics (pages visited, features used)
  • Session recordings with content masking (we see how you interact with the interface, but your typed content is masked)

2. How We Use Your Information

To Provide the Service

  • Display your work history and achievements in your timeline
  • Generate career insights based on your reflections
  • Create CV-ready content from your entries
  • Organize and structure your career data

To Improve the Service

  • Analyze aggregated and anonymized usage patterns
  • Identify and fix bugs
  • Understand which features are most valuable
  • Test and develop new features

To Communicate With You

  • Send account-related notifications
  • Remind you about check-ins (if you opt in)
  • Share product updates and new features

AI Processing

We use third-party AI models to generate insights and CV content from your reflections. Important points:

  • Your data is sent to AI providers solely for processing your requests
  • AI models do not train on your personal data
  • Your reflections remain private and are not shared with other users

3. What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not sell your data. Your information is not for sale, ever.
  • We do not make your private reflections visible to others. Your check-ins and reflections are private unless you explicitly choose to share specific content.
  • We do not share your data with employers or recruiters without your explicit consent.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services:

  • Analytics providers: To understand how users interact with StoryVue (with content masking)
  • AI model providers: To process your reflections and generate insights
  • Hosting infrastructure: To securely store and serve your data
  • Payment processors: To handle billing (we don't store your payment details)

These services are bound by their own privacy policies and data protection standards.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your career data indefinitely while your account is active. This allows us to generate CV content and insights from your complete history over years.

Your Deletion Rights

You can:

  • Delete individual reflections or entries at any time
  • Export all your data before deleting
  • Delete your entire account and all associated data from your account settings

When you delete your account, we permanently remove your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymized analytics may be retained for service improvement.

6. Data Security

We take security seriously:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Data is encrypted at rest in our databases
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms
  • Access to your data is strictly limited to essential systems and personnel
  • We regularly review and update our security practices

7. International Users

StoryVue is designed primarily for users in Australia and the United States. We comply with:

  • Australia: Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (OAIC)
  • United States: Applicable federal and state privacy laws

If you're located in other jurisdictions (including the EU/GDPR), please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries where our servers are located. We act in good faith to protect your privacy, but this policy may not fully comply with all international regulations.

  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and data
